The BBC's film of "The Most Incredible Thing" will be broadcast in the UK this Friday, July 1st, at 8 pm on BBC4 TV as part of its Contemporary Dance Weekend. According to the BBC, "the programme also includes exclusive behind-the-scenes access and interviews with the Pet Shop Boys, Javier de Frutos and others involved in this ambitious new production." Pet Shop Boys announce three tour dates in South Africa.
In 1991 when we presented the Simon Bates Show on BBC Radio One for a week, we featured each day a special mix of current dance music. We commissioned the mixes from 808 State, Kenny Ken, Sasha, Frankie Knuckles and Carl Cox. At the time, it was amazing to hear dance music at 10.30 in the morning on Radio One and the mixes got a great reaction from the listening public.
