Parlophone/EMI have decided to delay the release of "Concert", the double-CD of Pet Shop Boys' Mermaid Theatre concert with the BBC Concert Orchestra, to October 23rd for manufacturing and contractual reasons.
On the same day, they plan to release the DVD of "Pet Shop Boys: A life in pop", the documentary which was originally shown on Channel 4 in the UK in May. The TV broadcast was less than an hour long whereas the DVD version is an expanded version, approximately two hours 20 minutes long, and is a far more comprehensive overview of Pet Shop Boys' lives and career. As well as Neil and Chris, it features interviews with Brandon Flowers, Jake Shears, Trevor Horn and Robbie Williams, amongst others.
October will also see the release of "Pet Shop Boys Catalogue", the illustrated book published by Thames and Hudson which documents the entire visual, design, video and staging output of Pet Shop Boys from 1984 to 2004. The book will also be published in the USA and in a German-language version in Germany (publication date to be confirmed).
There are no plans at present for USA releases of "A life in pop" or "Concert".
