A statement from Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe: "We would like to express our sincere appreciation for the long working and personal relationship we have enjoyed with Tony Wadsworth, Chairman of EMI UK, who leaves EMI today after 26 years. He gave us encouragement when we needed it and much sound advice, creating an environment where creativity could flourish. Like many other EMI artists and staff we are very sad to see him go and wish him all the best for the future."
