PSB in Istanbul

The full set list for last night’s PSB performance at the Rock ‘n’ Coke festival in Istanbul was:

Home and dry
Suburbia
Se a vida e
Left to my own devices
Love comes quickly
Domino dancing
New York City boy
Always on my mind
Sexy Northerner
Opportunities
Love is a catastrophe
Where the streets have no name (I can’t take my eyes off you)
West End girls
Go West
Being boring
It’s a sin

Neil and Chris were joined on stage by guitarists Mark Refoy and Bic Hayes, percussionist Dawne Adams and programmers Pete Gleadall and Paul Beckett. The show was very well received by an estimated 12,000 people who earlier had watched acts including the Cardigans, Echo & the Bunnymen and Sugarbabes. This was the first major rock festival ever to be held in Turkey. It is expected to become an annual event.
A full report of Neil and Chris’s Istanbul trip with photos by Chris will be in the next issue of “Literally”, due in early November.

We visited the John Rylands Library in Manchester yesterday and saw the fascinating “Secret Public” exhibition which examines “the profound influence of LGBTQ performers, artists and activists on mainstream pop culture” and includes Neil’s original manuscripts of the lyrics for “West End girls” and “It’s a sin”. Highly recommended. Full details at the link below.
