The Christmas card sent to all members of the Pet Shop Boys Club this year takes the form of a DVD featuring a short film of highlights of the September 12 Trafalgar Square performance of “The Battleship Potemkin”. The film is edited to the opening theme of the score, “Comrades!” North American members have been sent an NTSC version to suit their region DVD players.
Pet Shop Boys would like to apologise to Club members for the non-appearance of the “Literally” magazine this year. This was due to the overwhelming commitments of Chris Heath (who writes the magazine) who this year wrote and had published the best-selling biography of Robbie Williams, “Feel”. In 2005 “Literally” will reappear. We would like to reassure Club members that they will receive three issues of the magazine for each subscription paid.
Thanks to everyone at the John Rylands Library, Manchester, for hosting our “Nonetheless” launch event in their spectacular building and to Jon Savage for interviewing us. And of course to everyone who attended the event!
