Live album release date

Parlophone have given September 25^th as the provisional release date for “Concert”, the double-CD of the complete Mermaid Theatre concert with the BBC Concert Orchestra, featuring guests Robbie Williams, Rufus Wainwright and Frances Barber.

Robbie Williams’ own new album is scheduled to be released on the same day. It includes two collaborations with Pet Shop Boys: “She’s Madonna” (a new Williams-Tennant-Lowe composition) and “We’re the Pet Shop Boys” (written by my robot friend and previously recorded by Pet Shop Boys).

Is This What We Want?

Pet Shop Boys are among more than 1,000 musicians who have come together to release “Is This What We Want?”, an album protesting the UK government’s proposed changes to copyright law, which would allow artificial intelligence companies to build their products using other people’s copyrighted work — music, artworks, text, and more — without a licence.

The album consists of recordings of empty studios and performance spaces and can be heard at the link below. All profits are being donated to the charity Help Musicians.
