On January 11th at 9 pm, Pet Shop Boys with the BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Jonathan Stockhammer, will be performing their music for the classic film “Battleship Potemkin” at a screening of the film in the Barbican Hall, London. The concert is part of the Barbican’s Only Connect series which “explores the boundaries where music, film and art meet”. “Battleship Potemkin” was originally premiered in Trafalgar Square in 2004 and the CD of the music was released in 2005. Go to the Theatre & Film section for more information about this PSB project.
Pet Shop Boys’ fifteenth studio album “Nonetheless” has entered the UK Official Albums Chart this week at number 2, the highest-charting PSB album since “Very” in 1993. And in the UK Vinyl Albums Chart “Nonetheless” is number one.
The album is also number 2 in Switzerland, number 3 in Germany and number 3 in Australia, their best album performance there since 1996. Additionally, it charted at number 5 in Belgium, number 16 in the Netherlands and number 24 in France.
