Pet Shop Boys’ new album, “Yes”, is now available for pre-order on iTunes. If you order it before it’s release date of March 23rd, you get a very special bonus track with the album: Stuart Price’s production of the Pet Shop Boys nine-and-a-half minutes Brits medley with new vocals by Neil. This is only available on iTunes up to the release of the album. The iTunes bundle also includes Pet Shop Boys’ dub mix of “Love etc.” and and audio commentary in which Neil and Chris talk through the whole album.
On this day 20 years ago, Pet Shop Boys premiered their new score to Eisenstein’s classic 1925 Russian silent film “Battleship Potemkin” in front of an estimated audience of 20,000 at London’s Trafalgar Square. PSB performed behind gauze with the Dresdner Sinfoniker conducted by Jonathan Stockhammer, playing orchestrations by Torsten Rasch while the movie is projected on a giant screen above the performers.
