As part of the “BBC Philharmonic Presents” season, Pet Shop Boys will be performing a specially orchestrated show for Radio 2 at the BBC Philharmonic Studios in Salford on December 5th at 8.30 pm.
Radio 2 have 65 pairs of free tickets (two per household) to give away from the link below from now until Monday, November 19th.
Neil and Chris will also be joined by Johnny Marr on guitar for some songs at the concert. Orchestrations are being supervised by Sven Helbig who orchestrated “The Most Incredible Thing” ballet. The concert will also feature the premiere of one piece from “A Man From The Future”, a new Tennant/Lowe work inspired by the life and work of mathematician and computing pioneer Alan Turing.
We visited the John Rylands Library in Manchester yesterday and saw the fascinating “Secret Public” exhibition which examines “the profound influence of LGBTQ performers, artists and activists on mainstream pop culture” and includes Neil’s original manuscripts of the lyrics for “West End girls” and “It’s a sin”. Highly recommended. Full details at the link below.
