We are very sad to learn of the death of Robin Gibb of the wonderful Bee Gees. It sometimes seemed as though Robin felt that the Bee Gees were under-appreciated compared with some of their contemporaries, the ubiquity of their disco-era songs seeming to be more of an issue than the beauty and sexiness of their music. But the Bee Gees have a catalogue rich with five decades of hits that is a testament to their songwriting and performing genius. Robin’s unusual high voice expressed a heartfelt longing and a human frailty. Harmonising with his brothers, magic was created — the original and gorgeous vocal sound that made the Bee Gees so famous and has echoed around the world since the 1960s. The Bee Gees have always been a big inspiration for us and we send our love and respect to Robin’s family. xx
