Pet Shop Boys made a surprise appearance with Yoko Ono at the conclusion of her concert at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London last night (Friday, June 17).
Yoko Ono played as part of the Meltdown Festival (curated this year by Patti Smith) with her band which includes her son, Sean Lennon. After the band had left the stage, Yoko returned and introduced Neil and Chris. The three then performed Pet Shop Boys’ “electro” remix of “Walking On Thin Ice”, Yoko singing and Neil and Chris each playing a keyboard over the backing-track. Pet Shop Boys’ regular programmer, Pete Gleadall, helped to mix the sound.
