Rufus and Neil

For the past week, Neil has been in Berlin and has been working as consultant producer on Rufus Wainwright’s new album.

Pet Shop Boys first met Rufus Wainwright in 2000 when they both perfomed at the Human Rights Concert in Washington DC and have remained in touch since. Rufus sang “Casanova in Hell” at the Mermaid Theatre concert in May and this version will appear on the live “Concert” album in September. He is producing his new album himself but earlier this year asked Neil if he would help to oversee the production. The album is due for release early in 2007.
